Yangtze River Dolphin


Yangtze river dolphin
is also called Chinese River Dolphin and it is found in the Chang (Yangtze) River in eastern China.

It is either extremely endangered or already extinct.

Its numbers went from 6,000 to near zero in the past 60 years, and the last individual was spotted in 2007.

They were hunted, got caught in fishing nets, died from boat collosions, electric fishing, and suffered from pollution and habitat loss.

It was a 2.5m long animal that weighed up to 230kg and lived for about 24 years.
