What Do Dolphins Eat

"So what do dolphins eat..."

As opposed to the large baleen whales which are filter feeders, dolphins are active predators and have teeth to catch their prey (there are exceptions where they suck the prey in too), but they generally don't use their teeth for chewing, but catching.

Once they've caught it, they swallow it whole.

Dolphins generally eat fish, squid, octopus, and other small to medium sized sea creatures.

Large dolphins such as orcas eat larger prey such as penguins, seals, sea lions, and other, smaller, dolphins.
