There are large numbers of whales that migrate to the waters off Newfoundland each summer, to feed on the abundant plankton and krill.

The most common baleen whales are humpbacks, fin and minke whales.

Toothed whales include pilot, sperm and killer whales, however they are much rarer to see.

The migrating baleen whales are easier seen, however they are only seen between April and October.
