There are several tour companies that take you out from Seattle to San Juan Islands, Puget Sound, Anacortes, Bellingham and Vancouver Island.
Some whales, such as the orca killer whales can be seen here all year around.
Migrating baleen whales though only visit the place seasonally - during the summer months, when they come here from the warmer, southern waters where they breed.
Such whales include blue, gray, humpback, fin, sei, and minke whales.
If you are lucky, you can also see the rare right whales.
